DECEMBER 2024 RESULT:
I did write more, but my post didn’t post after submit was hit. So here’s a shorter version.
2024: Happy with the year. There will be changes to my trading in the coming months to tune things more to my personality and diversify.
Lessons: well done for sticking to the knitting in 2024, with few wobbles. Tighten up the book keeping, and keep the systems f***ing simple.Happy New Year to all, wishing you all a successful 2025.
ScottBiltonParticipantExactly Sean! Lol.
Congrats on a great month.ScottBiltonParticipantNOVEMBER 2024 RESULTS:
Chugging along, made some good progress in November.
ScottBiltonParticipantOCTOBER 2024 RESULTS
I’m not really looking at my systems, too busy buying a house in NL and other family commitments. This goes to show how valuable it is to be able to press the buttons without second thoughts.
ScottBiltonParticipantSEPTEMBER 2024 RESULTS:
Busy as you like here. But pressing those buttons!
ScottBiltonParticipantHi Len, I think we were all thinking the same thing at end of July / start of August. It felt brutal.
I was twitching when placing trades for that first proper week in August.
Then the fear in the markets was seen as totally overcooked thin summer trading, but it didn’t feel like that at the time.
I read a Bloomberg piece that said that since the VIX index is calculated based on live options bid / asks, the summer volume meant some of the spreads got huge causing a spike in the VIX index. It doesn’t consider volume traded at all.
The VIX futures never got that far, so next time I’ll be checking the VIX futures to check the two are reasonably in line with each other.
ScottBiltonParticipantAUGUST 2024 RESUTS
In the process of setting up life in NL, busy, but managed to keep pressing the buttons.
ScottBiltonParticipantAgreed Chris, the market’s tough right now for trend / momo
ScottBiltonParticipantHi Rob, welcome to the forum, nice to see your post.
ScottBiltonParticipantJULY 2024 RESULTS
Away on hols, and trading is chugging away fine.
US MOMO was disappointing, at one point in July I was up nearly 9%, only to get brutally hammered at the end of the month to a negative number. Fortunately my other strategies compensated.ScottBiltonParticipantGreat news Nick, I really look forward to a new forum.
Will you be transferring all content over, or some things will be deleted?
ScottBiltonParticipantJUNE 2024 RESULT
A decent month, I’m happy, and I am envious of Nick’s performance! When the market is in a bull trend, if you have strats that target the best performing mega caps you can’t go too far wrong. Congrats Nick.
We’ve decided to move to the Netherlands this summer. It’s amazing how a mind stuck between 2 choices gets so stressed and it drains a lot of energy. Getting my mindset right (thanks to a tip from a friend) was the answer, looking at opportunity as well as risks. When you have 2 choices, both with compromises for all members of the family, there is no right choice, but rather a choice that you make right.
Plan for the next few months: chug along pressing buttons, and enjoy the summer!
ScottBiltonParticipantAnother nice month Nick.
And congrats on your main trading account. I read on your Twitter (X) that you’re having a great year so far.
WTT on the ASX is lifting the heavy weight. While it has some tough years, WTT can during bull markets do some really heavy lifting.ScottBiltonParticipantNice result after moving your assets, it takes guts. It keeps the confidence / belief there!
ScottBiltonParticipantGreat performance Glen! Well balanced too.
