RobertMontgomeryParticipantIf the equity curve doesn’t give you the chills, check out some of the other stats, 2%/20% management fee and $10,000,000 minimum investment.
It makes me very thankful to Nick, Craig and this community to have access to superior returns without the other hurdles.
RobertMontgomeryParticipantGreat Question Terry, I have pondered this myself. Currently my spouse and children have yet to demonstrate that they are interested in becoming a reliable back up for our accounts one day. So, I have developed a relationship with a reasonable fee based advisor with decent track record that my wife can redirect our to in the event I am unable to conduct business as usual.

401k ETF momentum: -3.6%… another back and forth month for the two MOC systems, balancing each other out and keeping the curve flat.
Per Nick’s recommendation I read Trading in the Zone this month, very insightful and I encourage everyone to read it if you haven’t yet.
RobertMontgomeryParticipantThanks Nick I will give that a go next week and it should save a few clicks.

Due to recurring power outages and Hurricane Ida, I moved from running TWS and the Smart API on my desktop pc to Speedy Trader VPS and I use dropbox to move the upload from my pc to the VPS. The setup was went pretty smooth, but I missed the time zone change of the VPS (EST) vs. my location CST. I had TWS setup to restart at 4 pm CST which resulted in TWS shutting down at the market close (4PM EST) when it was running on the New Jersey server. It only caused the API report to missed all or most of the sell orders. Minor oversight, but it’s working as expected now after moving the TWS restart time to 5 pm.
RobertMontgomeryParticipantAny rumors of Norgate offering cyrpto data feed? If not are there any recommended data sources?
RobertMontgomeryParticipantDon’t invest in the proper hardware (battery backup, pc, etc.) or remote server services to make sure your systems run uninterrupted due to power outages or hardware failure.
RobertMontgomeryParticipantI tend to think of a graph with a moving average or linear trend line moving up and just recognize it’s normal and expected for the daily returns to bounce above and below the trendline. Learning from Nick’s commentary and teaching, I also compare the returns against the expected daily/monthly returns as check that the system is within normal expected ranges. When all this checks out, it’s back to placing the next 1000 trades.
RobertMontgomeryParticipantI have experimented some with a similar concept of adjusting stretch as function of volatility of the indx and did not get very far with it. My programming skills are still at a beginner level, so I haven’t yet found an improvement to the results. To me the concept seems logical along the lines of adjusting position size as a function of volatility/risk to normalize all trades to similar expectancy of risk/return.

RobertMontgomeryParticipantCurrently, I pay out of my external income to continue and grow the trading account until it is big enough the external income is no longer needed.
If paying taxes and expenses out of my trading gains, I would have a low risk, low vol bucket/strategy for paying taxes and living expenses, etc. that would be replenished as needed and new highs are made.
RobertMontgomeryParticipantI am making progress, buy using a combination of Excel formulas and exploration data.
