Why can’t STT link into data vendors. I know it’s free to Chartist members and I appreciate that but if I had to subscribe to it, linking it to Yahoo would be a fatal flaw. Yahoo data is erroneous at the best of times. It’s an Excel spreadsheet but it’s bordering on a program and maybe that’s where it needs to go.
LeeDanelloParticipantI think these are his specials that he enters on the open.

I remember it a little differently. For the first time large institutions were moving from the bond market to the stock market in a massive way. .They all had portfolio insurance which were hedges to lessen risk. Apparently the computers spit out sell orders in unison as the market declined and the program traders reacted to the computer selling. Clearly there other macroeconomic reasons as you mention above.
I remember that day as I watched a large part of my portfolio go up in flames..
LenAnd how long did it take to recover?
LeeDanelloParticipantGood find Zach

A weekly Trend Following SystemIndex Filter 10 week MA
Stock must close above a new high of 20 weeks
ROC 20 weeks over 30%Buy on Open
Trailing Stop Exit
Initial S/L set from Buy Bar
If Index Filter Red tighten trailing stop to 10% of most recent weeks trading
If Index Filter goes Green keep 10% trailing stop in place and move to 40% when the level reached.
20 positions 5%Add assorted flavours to taste…there’s plenty to choose from ie: changing Initial S/L, changing Trailing Stop, changing price Filters, changing universe etc etc.
It’s a pretty good system. I run it on a weekly basis and it does pretty well considering the chop that the ASX has been in over the last 10 years.

I get a hint of some discretion in there?

Do you think we should stop trading mean reversion systems/MOC based on your observations?
Certainly my MOC is dead in the water. What is moving for me is my rotational momentum systems and my passively held. VTI(in my retirement accounts)Len it just means you’ve got to get smarter. Maybe we need to be more market specific and target new technologies, new materials. The world is rapidly changing so there’s got be new opportunities out there.
LeeDanelloParticipantIn a nutshell what is market internals?
LeeDanelloParticipantIf he wants people to follow what he writes then he should provide a valid argument much like he did on his review on Wealth Lab. I agreed with him there as that program is slow as a wet week. Undoubtedly a smart guy but like you say lacking in humility and reason in this case.
LeeDanelloParticipantYeah I thought the whole point of this course was to become automated and hence discretionary and bias free.
