Yes I get what you’re saying, and even if that happens I’ll still be able to trade the next day and all of the days after that…

I also cancelled a short setup in GME.
January 27, 2021 at 11:39 pm #112917TrentRothallParticipantWow open at $354 madness.
My Long/short moc erased all gains from this month in 2 days. -12.3% DD, lucky for me i had a good start
January 27, 2021 at 11:59 pm #112918GlenPeakeParticipantYou’re not alone in taking a bit of stick over the past 2 days Trent.
Just when you start to think things are looking pretty good, there always seems to be a ‘slap in the face’ coming around the corner…
January 28, 2021 at 12:22 am #112920TrentRothallParticipantExactly! My weekly positions were petty extended looking, they are coming back to earth now lol.

What is wrong with us that we want to subject ourselves to this
January 31, 2021 at 6:55 am #112925TrentRothallParticipantJan 21
WTT 11.5%
ASXMR -4.9%
MOC LONG/SHORT 2.84%Acc 2.67%
As with some other guys returns were looking alot better this time last week. MOC and WTT lost around 10% in 3 days! Got lucky when i launched my MOC at the start of Jan, accidently set position size to 3x what it should have been and had a 7% up day.
A positive month none the less.
Will upload my equity charts when i iron out some bugs.
January 31, 2021 at 7:47 am #112960GlenPeakeParticipantNice work Trent. 11.5% in the WTT is great going!
Yep, tough finish to end the month.
January 31, 2021 at 8:07 am #112961TrentRothallParticipantMight be much the same this month to start with Glen, 5 WTT exits for me some of the leaders, SYR, CXO HZR.
January 31, 2021 at 8:15 am #112962GlenPeakeParticipantYep… SYR is on my sell list as well…. plus a few other good ones e.g. GXY CIA etc….
February 28, 2021 at 1:43 am #112963TrentRothallParticipantFeb 2021
WTT: -2.51%
ASXMR: 3.74%
LONG/SHORT MOC: -4.13%TOTAL: -1.17%
Very volatile in the small end of the ASX this month, i made a few tweaks to my entry criteria in the WTT that will hopefully keep me out of the ‘pump and dump’ signals that i’ve been seeing lately, i have been wary of this since i implemented the system and the small condition i added seems to help.
I have some concerns about my MOC system with selection bias because i’m allowing more orders vs positions at the moment. I might make a post in another thread to hear peoples views.
February 28, 2021 at 3:31 pm #113051RobertMontgomeryParticipantTrent, Would love to hear your thoughts and experience with the MOC long/short systems. I have yet to find a combination of conditions for short MOC that I’m comfortable with.
April 1, 2021 at 4:15 am #113059TrentRothallParticipantMarch
ASX MR 7.7%
ASX WTT -4.6%LONG/SHORT MOC – Paused
I was a bit naïve i think with my implementation of my moc system, so i parked it at the start of the month to reassess. My live results were deviating from my backtests. I was placing more orders than positions available and although i don’t think this is too much of a issue in normal market conditions when the volatility ramps up as it did in February (short side) i was getting stung a lot worse than than my backtests. See the selection bias section of the course.
I’ve been doing some testing and I might be almost ready to relaunch something.
ASX MR is behaving nicely and the small cap WTT has been getting chopped up recently.

I have paused mine for the moment while i reassess i don’t have access to any margin in my account so i thought if i allowed more orders vs positions then this would help increase trade frequency, which it does. But i found i was always getting the worse trades, which makes sense when you think about it… Bad trades drop ( or go up) from the open and don’t revert back. Filling up available positions.
As for short testing, Nick has said it before but looking for short opportunities in a upward trending stocks i found was the best way to go about it. Counter intuitive but seems to work best.
Cheers
