Think my weekly system is good to go, all stress tested pretty well so might start on Monday. Just warning everyone to brace themselves for corona wave 2 and US civil unrest pt1 come Monday 9.30am.
Entering right at the bottom of a 20% DD so see how that plays out.
Next system to test up is a short term momentum system to hopefully compliment my MR. Looking to take chunks out of larger trends by buying strength.

Do you plan on buying all the existing positions that have been initiated and are currently open, i.e. to eliminate selection bias? Or are you going to start buying when new signals pop up etc?
BTW: Thanks for the warning!!!
June 2, 2020 at 7:19 am #111575TrentRothallParticipantI was going to buy as they come up? What did you do?
Too bad I didn’t have it done two weeks ago
June 2, 2020 at 7:59 am #111576GlenPeakeParticipantI was in the fortunate position at the start of 2019, where the market was coming out of the 2018 4th quarter dump and there were only maybe 4 trades OPEN etc and as I was already trading Nick’s WTT turnkey code, I already had a couple position on etc… so it wasn’t too hard to pick up the remainder etc….but I think you’d be in a slightly different situation with this market where you’re going to be going from 0% invested to greater than 50% (or closer to 100% invested) if you buy all existing positions… which might be a bit of a gut check etc….
I guess one option for the existing positions might be to place a ‘conditional order’ / Rising Buy….. for a recent High point on the stock. that way you get on board when the trend picks up and gets going again and passes through the recent HIGH etc….that way your backtest will always be in sync with live positions no matter which date you pick to perform your backtest from etc….(being out of sync with LIVE positions, could be a bit frustrating etc)
So, if there are currently 15 positions open on your WTT system, you could place 15 BUY ‘conditional order’ / Rising Buy orders and that way you have 5 slots available for new buy signals that pop up etc… and you wait for the other 15 orders to break through that HIGH point you pick out….. if it never does and the position goes south and triggers the EXIT, your already out etc….
Anyway, Welcome to the WTT club…. member numbers are Bullish and appear to be on the UP and UP atm!!!
June 9, 2020 at 8:03 am #111578TrentRothallParticipantI ended up just buying new signals as they come as per system rules. Thanks Glen
Handy start in NVX.au up 76% today!
Market looking very extended.. But from my recent Technical charts above i’m not a very good analyst lol
June 9, 2020 at 9:59 am #111611Nick RadgeKeymaster76%…nice!
Gotta say, the volatility is pretty extreme in these small caps.
I’ve initiated a partial profit take a 100% on positions. I’ve had 3 go >100% in a day then reverse almost all.
June 9, 2020 at 10:16 am #111613TrentRothallParticipantInteresting, i did see a graph (on twitter…..) saying the Small caps are at historically high levels vs some factor (can’t remember)
So if a position is up 100% you’re selling say 25% of the position?
76% in a day is pretty wild, 57% last week too…

ASX MR 2.3%
WTT 0.5%My WTT i had to stop trading after only a few weeks because i needed funds for something else. Was a dumb decision to start it but didn’t cost me anything. Now i just have to deal with my fomo if the system shows good profits.
Been very frustrating of late, feel like i’ve been sloppy in my decision making. I had a key areas of interest marked on some charts and I failed to pull the trigger when price pulled back into them especially Tesla. Also because the market has had such a strong run my mean reversion system has had barely any trades. I also missed one trade which was costly.
Although I feel like I have improved my exit mechanism a lot in my mean reversion system, if I had done before the sell-off I would be back to all-time highs instead of in a 20% DD. Isn’t hindsight wonderful
July 3, 2020 at 2:56 am #111766GlenPeakeParticipantWe all have moments of frustration like that Trent…you’re not alone there…. hindsight can be like that.
It’s a long journey and the important part is to stay the coarse and be there for the entire journey.
The systems that you’ve developed are solid and you are light years ahead of the average Joe trader. We are all a work in progress…..
For me, the COVID era is a reminder that I need to review my systems more regularly i.e. I hadn’t reviewed my MR systems in the 6-12 months leading up to COVID etc, so for me that’s the takeaway/learning. I’ve since reviewed and know I have more robustness out of my MR systems and will review them on a more regular basis.
July 3, 2020 at 5:16 am #111767TrentRothallParticipantThanks Glen good points, have to play the long game. I am confident in my MR just need to keep pulling the trigger now.
July 3, 2020 at 5:43 am #111768GlenPeakeParticipantYep….

Trust that the time you have spent on building the system, verifying, stress testing, simulating, and with all other manner of things that we have learned, the system is optimally suited to make the decision.July 14, 2020 at 2:32 am #111818TrentRothallParticipantHow does everyone get their relevant tax info from IB? What reports do you use?
Every year i get confused
July 14, 2020 at 2:55 am #111899GlenPeakeParticipantTry the following Trent: (I had to ask IB last year, because of the 2 account numbers/migration to IBAUS etc )… Here’s what the said…… (just change to the appropriate FinYear etc
Specifically, if you would like to retrieve the Fiscal year Report, please log in to Client Portal and:
· Navigate to the Reports > Statement menu
· Ensure your new IBAU account number is displayed at the top
· Choose Default Statements > Activity > Fiscal Year > Ending June 30 2019 > Run Statement
July 14, 2020 at 6:48 am #111900TrentRothallParticipantThanks Glen, i think that answers my question. Do you use that for your dividends too?
