What a nasty bitch that was.Do you put ASX buy orders in 3-5% over high and sell orders 3-5% below low or both based off close? Assuming you want the opening/closing auction that is.
August 3, 2016 at 9:01 am #104970LeeDanelloParticipantI think the trick is get filled so both should be limit orders off the low. Next time it will be 5%. The stock shouldn’t gap lower than 5% at the auction. You could be left stranded if you put the limit order off the high and the stock gaps against you.

There’s no magical figure it just needs to be far enough from the opening price to get a fill in the auction. I think i use close…
August 19, 2016 at 10:53 am #102713TrentRothallParticipanta nice rally GXY.asx saved me from a 15+% loss. Have few nasty ones at the moment… Just snuck back above the 20% return today, hopefully it stays that way
August 25, 2016 at 7:52 am #105074TrentRothallParticipantJust assessed the amount of slippage i am getting when i exit on the open… none. Got to be happy with that
Think i have only had 2 partial fills also, although i have missed a few trades when the low is exactly on the limit order. I added the returns of the missed trades + extra trades that filled in IB and not Amibroker, i am up about 1% because of it.
Still down about 2.5-3% this month, but otherwise all running smoothly
August 26, 2016 at 7:58 am #102714TrentRothallParticipantPick up a few nice ones the last couple of days. I’ll take that!
August 29, 2016 at 7:10 am #102715TrentRothallParticipantFull house today for the first time, also the worst day so far about 4% down. Was also the first time the API had to work its magic – which it did. Think im about 6-7% DD at the moment (biggest DD).
Doesn’t help when you accidentally double up on a position that drops 14.4% today, cost me 800 bucks. opps… luckily i caught it relatively early. First time i’ve done that
A day of uhh… firsts…
No sells either, see what tomorrow brings. Looking like my first losing month. A badge of honour

My ASX Momentum is -13.5% for this month. Totally in line with the testing though. I just picked the wrong month to start…

September 1, 2016 at 1:00 am #102717TrentRothallParticipantAugusts results
49 Trades
Return = -4.4%
First losing month, could have been worse if i didn’t catch a few +10% trades. Also my most active month i think in terms of number of trades. Probably didn’t help that i deposited some extra funds into the portfolio so my positions are a bit larger than they have been.
it’s interesting how Nicks asx MR compared this month, shows how running multiple systems can e beneficial.
Total results
134 trades
60% win rate
W/L ratio = 1.08
Return = 16.3%
