November 30, 2021 at 11:52 pm #114105GlenPeakeParticipantIt’s been a choppy year all round Mike….. a lot of frustrating whipsaw action…. The NDX100 RTN systems, started the year well, then got whacked mid year and have recovered a bit. MR systems have been out of sync most of the year. ASX100 RTN has struggled/under-performed etc…. That’s trading though…
Keep pushing those buttons, eventually you’ll be well rewarded….. And when things get frustrating for you, just go and knock out some more 200kg+ Deadlifts!!!!!
December 1, 2021 at 12:08 am #114109MichaelRodwellMemberLOL – thanks Glen! I hit a few singles at 200kg today to clear the cobwebs before placing trades! The main concern I have had is seeing the growth of the NDX while my system remains flat. I’m not in panic mode but it kind of sucks to have designed a system to capture the best of that growth and it hasn’t happened.

December 13, 2021 at 2:50 am #114110MichaelRodwellMemberI saw this interesting stat on twitter…
Without the top 5, the NASDAQ is down 25% year to date.
I’ve been underperforming the market and pretty much everyone else here that trades a NDX Momo System. But it kind of makes sense to me given that I run 10 positions.
I haven’t given it too much thought, but perhaps this could be a reason im struggling to gain traction this year.
December 13, 2021 at 6:39 am #114179Nick RadgeKeymasterBe interesting to see the same for the ASX.
December 16, 2021 at 5:38 pm #114180MichaelRodwellMemberMy index filter took me out of the market on the 1st and 15th this month. It’s pretty tight on my ASX system so flicks on and off pretty easily in a sideways market which I quite like. In comparison my NDX systems is wide open (white knuckling).
For the first full year of running the system I was down 2.4%.
December 31, 2021 at 9:37 pm #114198MichaelRodwellMemberI’m feeling a bit indifferent about the results I’ve had this year.
My ASX Momo system was a bit meh but not really a big deal either way.
My NDX System faired a little better with a nice comeback month in Dec.
Over the year I have become more in tune with focusing on the process or trading and not worrying about the outcome. The scars of past beatings still exist but they are fading. Looking forward to seeing what 2022 holds.
January 18, 2022 at 2:39 am #109569KateMoloneyParticipantHi Michael.
Are you still in Rosalie?
I live in South Brisbane/West End … near the William Jolly Bridge …
January 19, 2022 at 5:12 am #114304MichaelRodwellMemberHey Kate,
No, I moved up the coast about 18 months back.
I’m planning on a few visits to Brisbane in Feb/Mar if you want to grab a coffee?
Cheers
Mike
