MAY 2024 RESULT
US MOMO caught some negative earnings. Random?
I reminded myself that my target is only 10-15% return for the year for my total systematic trading account. While I might lag a bullish market, on a risk adjusted basis I will sleep better and have more confidence in my strategies. That said I intend to have a total system that is in sync with the market, yet avoids or minimizes major index down moves.
What I’m happy about is my flawless “pressing of the buttons” each trading day. For me the ideal scenario in the future is: I press the buttons because I truly don’t care which way the market is going. I don’t care because my strategies are doing what they’re supposed to do, I believe in them fully, and the overall account volatility is tuned well below my sleeping threshold. It helps to have a chunk of net worth outside the market too .
June-September my development of new stuff will be slow / paused as I’ve got a major family move to Europe happening. Still a split decision between the UK and NL. Oh and the joy of once again paying taxes on trading profits.

A decent month, I’m happy, and I am envious of Nick’s performance! When the market is in a bull trend, if you have strats that target the best performing mega caps you can’t go too far wrong. Congrats Nick.
We’ve decided to move to the Netherlands this summer. It’s amazing how a mind stuck between 2 choices gets so stressed and it drains a lot of energy. Getting my mindset right (thanks to a tip from a friend) was the answer, looking at opportunity as well as risks. When you have 2 choices, both with compromises for all members of the family, there is no right choice, but rather a choice that you make right.
Plan for the next few months: chug along pressing buttons, and enjoy the summer!

Away on hols, and trading is chugging away fine.
US MOMO was disappointing, at one point in July I was up nearly 9%, only to get brutally hammered at the end of the month to a negative number. Fortunately my other strategies compensated.September 1, 2024 at 10:05 am #115635ScottBiltonParticipantAUGUST 2024 RESUTS
In the process of setting up life in NL, busy, but managed to keep pressing the buttons.

Busy as you like here. But pressing those buttons!
November 1, 2024 at 7:49 pm #115636ScottBiltonParticipantOCTOBER 2024 RESULTS
I’m not really looking at my systems, too busy buying a house in NL and other family commitments. This goes to show how valuable it is to be able to press the buttons without second thoughts.
December 2, 2024 at 2:58 pm #115637ScottBiltonParticipantNOVEMBER 2024 RESULTS:
Chugging along, made some good progress in November.
January 4, 2025 at 6:22 pm #116995ScottBiltonParticipantDECEMBER 2024 RESULT:
I did write more, but my post didn’t post after submit was hit. So here’s a shorter version.
2024: Happy with the year. There will be changes to my trading in the coming months to tune things more to my personality and diversify.
Lessons: well done for sticking to the knitting in 2024, with few wobbles. Tighten up the book keeping, and keep the systems f***ing simple.Happy New Year to all, wishing you all a successful 2025.
January 4, 2025 at 7:30 pm #116997GarethParticipantHi Scott, nice numbers for the year! How are you finding living in Netherlands? My brother and his family are based in the Hague. Nice & safe for the kids 🙂 Question – what does “US ON” stand for? I tried to read previous comments but couldn’t follow. Is that a daily MR system?
Happy new year and good luck for a smash-it-out-the-park 2025!
