so today i will exit 3 of the 20 and try to replace them with new 3

recently i have been working on short term trend following system that aims to buy breakout from consolidation range or triangles. The tough part is describing these patterns in code they are so easy for the eye but when you have to code them are not so easy.

Are you trading the Rus1000 or 3000 Said?

I trade both of them

Russell 1000 for MRV
Russell 3000 for WTT
S&P500 for Momentum

the reason is WTT is trend following so i want to have low cap stocks that are more volatile but they can trend better than large cap ones, for MRV i need the large cap ones since they fit better the MRV style because they are a bit more steady.

Another reason for using different groups is to reduce exposure to the same stocks because lets assume i have the same stock in the three strategies and this stock gaped down on bad news instead of having one hit i will have three

Yes. We have a few explorations that look for these but I have never been comfortable trying to code them into a system.

What a day in short down down down

to start I am holding TRXC in the weekly system and it opened around 60% down most probably bad news, thanks to position sizing the loss is acceptable any how still there is time till Monday Open.

MRV 5% down the good thing that it is only open loss

anyhow all of this is I am OK with i saw the huge losses during backtesting and day to day variations as well, but what is annoying is the way stocks go up slowly and when they go down MAN they switch to free fall mode
