Reporting Turned off by SetOption()

My Amibroker has suddenly decided to not produce reports and shows this message at the bottom left corner

Reporting Turned off by SetOption()

Anyone seen this before?

To the best of my knowledge I haven’t changed anything

Make sure this line is not in code:-
SetOption(“GenerateReport”, 0 );

If not, I’d contact AB and include your version #.

No def not in the code. It worked one minute then stopped working the next

Update:

I updated Amibroker to 6.30.5 and everything worked. On my other machine the old version still worked until twenty minutes ago (a couple of days after the first machine stopped working) and then I got the same error message. I upgraded that machine to 6.30.5 and it works fine.

I have no idea WTF it is that caused this. I seem to remember it happened two years ago and I did the same thing. I wrote to Tomasz but he wants to see a copy of the code….That’s not going to happen It can’t be a code thing and it can’t be an update to Windows as I haven’t done any. Tomasz wouldn’t believe that as he seems to assume everyone is an idiot, which in most cases they are so you can’t blame him.

Anyway if it happens to you, upgrade Amibroker

With regards AmiBroker upgrades generally, is there a “recommended” time/rule of thumb at which point one should probably be looking to upgrade to the latest version?

FYI, I’m still using Version 6.20.1 from when I started in 2017 and noticed Version 6.31 is now available.

I’m interested to know if the 6.30 version runs faster in backtests, optimisations etc?

Version notes on Amibroker site says 6.30 64 bit has new VC++2017 compiler, so I am interested to know if it does in fact have any noticeable improvement over version 6.20 64 bit?

Actually I’m not sure it does run any faster…so at best, no noticeable difference. I’m running some walk forwards now and I can’t see any difference. Basically I think if you don’t need to upgrade then don’t.
