Hi Terry,
No. I’ve been away a lot this month, so just had it sidelined.January 4, 2023 at 4:44 am #115295TimothyStricklandMemberKate, I agree that it is really hard to try and say everything in a simple forum post but I think I see what you are getting at. Some of the best traders have some serious drawdowns, in some cases, so large that most people simply cannot stomach.
I also have followed drawdowns on some of the greats. Warren Buffet for instance had drawdowns of around 51%, how many people could stomach such a loss and keep plugging away, not many I would guess.

April 3, 2023 at 1:06 pm #115522JulianCohenParticipantforgive my ignorance but what are share placements?
April 3, 2023 at 10:02 pm #115525Nick RadgeKeymasteraka capital raisings.
Insto placement some 25% below the closing price. They then sell the stock down for a guaranteed profit while retail holders are left out to dry.

Multi: +5.70% (net of fees)For a variety of reasons, health being one (nothing overly serious), I’ve decided to make a few changes to my SMSF exposure and simplify the daily workload
1. I have discontinued all short-term ASX trading. There is simply too much divergence from backtest to real-time to make this worthwhile from a performance and time constraint. I was happy to plug along at a lower exposure, but quite frankly, I’ve come to the conclusion the added workload under the current circumstances is not worth it.
2. The MOC strategy continues to frustrate. I copped 4 large earnings revisions during the month that took the strategy from profitable to loss. 4 trades out of the several hundred done to flip the result suggest some further work or justification on this portfolio is needed.
3. I have also decided to lower the volatility in my SMSF as I approach 60. I have spent the month consolidating all the various SMSF accounts into one single account. I will now allocate my full SMSF to the new All Weather portfolio that I have been developing over the last 12 months. For the benefit of others, I’ll write a little more about this portfolio shortly. The 4 strategies that I had been using in the SMSF (Growth Portfolio, Weekend Trend Trader, and the Managed Account – which consisted of the US Momentum and another ASX Momentum strategy, have been moved into other entities)September 1, 2023 at 1:05 am #115687Nick RadgeKeymasterAugust 2023
