Hi All,
I am Zach, I am 28 and mechanical fitter in the Oil and Gas industry. Have previously worked in power station, rail.
My trading background is pretty limited but I have past the beginner’s cycle.
I was recommend by a family friend probably 8 years to chartist but at the time I had no idea and used it for a month one or 2 trades and gave up.
About 2 years I started back with shares guessing the spread and then started reading anything I could find on trading mostly fundamental data which too me did make much sense the only thing which did make sense was volume
About 12 month ago I found Nicks Book the “Unholy Grails”.
And found the mentor program by dumb luck.My Goal is to be able to trade in a fully structured way. Make a cash and escape a 4 weeks on 1 week off roster
I usually travel in between work and Phuket, So if anyone is over this way and I happen to be here more then willing to show you around or have a chat

if Beginner’s cycle is just to abandon a system because it is in DD then it can be easily eliminated by understanding your system and how it does in different market conditions but my real problem is tweaking the system so i start tweaking here and there for different reasons either to implement new idea or to reduce some biases and I end up with totally different system. This cause long pause for me if i will trade the new tweaked system which is different from the initial one it means i abandoned the original one and jumped to new one. Isn’t this considered as beginners cycle as wellJune 11, 2017 at 7:54 pm #107100ScottMcNabParticipantInteresting. The reason for the tweak may be the key in determining whether we have done this perhaps ? If it was done to reduce selection bias or to address slippage or to reduce correlation with existing systems then I would suspect it is not beginners cycle..i.e. a shortcoming in the system was identified and corrected…..if the changes were done because they were found to increase CAR 1-2% or reduce maxDD 1-2 % in the backtest then maybe it is ?
