So, all good, I placed my regular 70 trades last night – actually 69 after I cancelled my GME short, thanks guys for talking me off the ledge – and off I went to bed. When I got to my desk this morning at a couple of minutes before the close, I saw my login screen staring at me
I usually have half a dozen trades at the most per day, but this morning I had over 20 new trades, all MOC (both long and short) and all still open of course. I was frantically trying to ‘close all positions’ but didn’t get there in time…
Apart from feeling physically ill about accidentally testing Omar’s idea that MOC trades may benefit from being held overnight, there is a practical issue – I need to prevent this from happening again.
I don’t know why my PC closed down. There wasn’t a power outage at my house – all the clocks still told the correct time. I wonder whether I had an automatic update, in which case I need to turn that $%^& off. I had to leave the house so I haven’t had a chance to check, but I thought I had all of my updates set to happen in the middle of the afternoon to prevent this very thing.
This is a problem I need to fix, any suggestions would be greatly appreciated..
Best wishes,
Terry
