Ken here from Perth in WA, originally from Scotland – been here 20 years now, have three beautiful daughters and very much love this ‘Lucky Country’.
Got a technology background/career and been coding on and off since uni days – was introduced to ‘trading’ via crypto around 2013. Mostly been a speculator, investor, B&H and never really understood what proper trading was or how to develop and follow a plan until I completed a discretionary crypto trading course / mentor program in 2019.
Came across Nick and ‘Unholy Grails’ around the same time and the idea of having confidence in your trading by minimising discretion and backtesting really hit home.
Been a member of The Chartist for the last year, started trading the turnkey WTT and have recently added TLT, ASX MOMO and US Day Trade L & S to my portfolio.
For the past 6 months, I’ve been working with an Amibroker developer to see if I could systemise one of the rules based discretionary systems I’ve traded – had limited success, but the learning experience has been excellent and led me to level-up and commit to this mentor course and community.
I’m excited about eventually being able to test hypothesis and trading ideas that I have in my head to code while learning all the nuances about both developing and executing robust trading systems.
Really appreciate the opportunity to be part of this community and hope to be able to give back.
