Jumped aboard The Chartist train last month and wanted to introduce myself.
I’m Robert, 38 y/o Aussie living in the US with my wife (and first bub due in a couple of months). Spent five years in NYC, and am now in Santa Monica.
Have a legal and audio engineering background, and started looking into trading more seriously (long after some uninformed trades earlier in life). Wanted to find a method that felt genuine and possible for me to carry out.
After a fair amount of searching, I read Covel’s TurtleTrader book and was gob-smacked at the possibilities. Learned about technical analysis, and tried out some strategies, but it still didn’t quite feel realistic.
Later heard Nick on the Chat with Traders podcast, and his straight-forward approach resonated so fully. Read Unholy Grails and made the decision to apply.
My overarching goals are to grow my retirement account, and eventually be financially stable enough to spend time focused mainly on music and family. I really appreciate the purity of the main principles involved in this type of trading, and the fact that it’s possible to remove discretion so much from the picture.
Really looking forward to learning alongside you all, and hope to provide any useful comments I can.
