the connection didnt recover until 15 minutes later when the market had closed. connection was lost at ~16:02:53 EDT. batchtrader is configured to close orders at 16:03
:sick:I had exactly the same thing, leaving me with unsold positions. Miraculously they are in profit!! It must have been Hostwinds. Did you see a reboot message when you logged in?

im using the tws offline version 958. just finished with hostwinds support chat. they have issued a ticket and are going to look into the logs to see if they can reveal anything… shall post reply when it comes…
October 10, 2016 at 5:05 am #105493JulianCohenParticipantYeah let me know. I’ll let you know if I have a problem on Friday again. If I do I think I might have to try SpeedyTradingServers. However I’m starting to think they all might be much of a muchness, but at least Speedy caters solely to Traders so understand the importance of a server that doesn’t reboot for no reason
October 10, 2016 at 5:12 am #105494TrentRothallParticipantI haven’t had any issues with hostwinds so far. I have tws running basically 24 hours. Iv’e been with them few weeks or so
October 10, 2016 at 5:33 am #105495AnonymousInactivegot a reply from hostwinds support. there was no error generated by the system related to a networking problem. so it seems the problem was with TWS and IB.
October 10, 2016 at 5:34 am #105496Nick RadgeKeymasterMake sure your server time and your TWS time are the same. Remember you’ve just gone to daylight savings which may have had an impact…
I’ve not had an issue with Hostwinds for weeks now.

yes the server and tws are both (and were at the time) set to the same timezone. its the only problem affecting my trading ive had since i started with hostwinds. i also think they have provided excellent support so far.
this 15 minute glitch was just very bad timing, right across the very small closing auction window… looking forward to the asx one day providing a legit moc order.

I’m hoping they’ve fixed me up and I’ll be in the same situation too.

January 3, 2017 at 7:05 pm #105637AnonymousInactiveAfter a long break from this forum due to holidays and time with the family in Deutschland I have some catching up to do!
I have kept trading while away (not doing so well with the MOC systems… combined asx and us systems are down ~27%) and been working on some programming projects in spare time to keep me busy. I have put together a charting tool for the free live data from yahoo and google as well as a batch trader that is still in the works.
Lots to catch up though with older forum posts.
