IB TWS Crashing

Is anyone having issues with IB TWS crashing when starting the program initially as it trys to auto update?

I am running TWS on a remote VPS/Speedy Trader Servers, not sure if that matters.

Ok…. I just got mine working on my VPS/Speedy.

I tried several different things i.e. uninstall TWS / Java JRE etc…. but no luck.

I ended up downloading the OFFLINE TWS Package from here:

https://www.interactivebrokers.com/en/index.php?f=14099#tws-software

Make sure you click the OFFLINE TWS Package (you might need to scroll down a little to see the package)… i.e.File Size 90MB Version: 1014.1b

So download that and run the install….

Hopefully that resolves any issues.

I am lucky enough to have Aimbroker crash as well on same day….
iB still working on home computer ,just not speedy

Known problem, use https://download2.interactivebrokers.com/installers/tws/latest-standalone/tws-latest-standalone-windows-x64.exe .

I installed and the workstation screen is blank after logging in, so something still not happy after installing on the VPS. For today, I will go to plan B and run today’s trades from my desktop, fingers crossed no power blips today.

Hmmm… That upgrade of TWS was a fail – all of my configuration settings have gone.
Saved the settings to the server but they aren’t there.
Unfortunatley I can see now that I should have saved settings to an xml file too – bugger,

Did you wait 30 – 60 seconds? Because mine did that and was fine after.

All trades loaded, seems be working normally. Fingers crossed.

I have managed to get TWS settings back on the VPS – copied from another computer
Something corrupted in the update

Here is the feedback I received from Sam at Speedy Trader Servers.

“I’m still using an old release, this one https://ninjatrader.com/fr/ninjatrader/TWS/Trader-Workstation-981-3i.exe .
I think IB rushed to setup a new version because of the log4j vulnerability (which we don’t care, if TWS is ran on our VPS there’s no security risks), and add bugs all around…”

I will give this version a go next week.

This version of TWS has been working fine for a few sessions now without issue.

Does anyone have a checklist of the recommended settings for TWS when using the SmartAPI?
