ASIC are introducing new laws which will have a huge impact on the industry and to some extent this business.

Question:
Do you feel you have been given personal advice (as opposed to general advice) as a part of this course?

No.

Initial instinct is Yes. But after thinking more about our conversations and the course content I feel it’s me that it is me putting the information to use in the context of my personal situation.

Agree with Michael’s summary. Initial thought was yes but is in essence are principles for us to then apply as we see fit. I wonder how their “hair splitters” would look at something like the changes to a line of code in a system submitted for review ? What a headache

Absolutely not. I am licensed for both personal and general advice, but ASIC (regulator) are changing the goal posts, so much so that many are handing their licenses back and leaving the industry (or going underground as I know a few are).

It’s only for my benefit. As far as I’m concerned I’m only providing ‘general’ advice, which is deemed to be non-specific to an individual.

Same goes for me Nick. I don’t think I have been offered any advice specifically for me: you would have said the same things to anyone else that asked you the same questions, and in many group calls I have heard you do that.
